Ditto on Rivcos. Good alternative IMO though you don't get a heel-toe shifter (which I detest anyway).

While I was at the Honda Hoot in Knoxville at end of June, I talked to Richard the owner of RIVCO about all of the Rocket products that he has fabricated. I did mention about the Driver's Floor Boards being flat and he stated to me that all of the new ones coming out will be slightly slanted back similar to the Triumph's boards. RIVCO's boards cost less and are better quality IMHO!! Just thought I would mention this since some riders didn't like the original boards because they did not slant back like Triumph's .... well RIVCO listens to this group and now they have been modified to correct that problem.
Thanks,
Rick

BlueElf,
this is good news, I have the passenger floorboards on order and love the looks of the driver floorboards, but wouldn´t have bought them without the tilt...
PS: I bought a nelson-rigg bag and the leatherlykes as you suggested and I´m very satisfied. Thanks again Rick.

Unless they move 'em up higher (doesn't seem like a good idea) slanting the driver boards will IAL reduce cornering clearance. Better clearance than most floorboard-equipped bikes is one of the nice features of the current Rivco driver boards.
Can see why some might prefer slanted however if you drop your bootheels off the back of the ones I have (can easily do that since they're shorter and not impeded by a heel shifter) it is then like having the foot positions of a standard and a floorboard cruiser in one. THREE comfortable positions to switch to on long trips if you add hiway pegs too. The Rivco boards are great, I hope they don't screw them up!

Hi sbljr,
Actually, Richard didn't go into any specific details about it with me since they were very busy that Saturday at the Hoot. He just mentioned that they were going to make the driver's boards have some slant in them based upon some of the feedback he had received. I have no idea if he plans to offer 2 different styles (1 straight (flat) and 1 slanted) nor do I know how much slant he planned to design in them. I have always liked everything that RIVCO has come out with for all 3 of my bikes, so I have great confidence that whatever changes he makes will be to meet the needs and desires of the majority of riders. I personally only have the rear passenger floor boards and they are just great (see any of my past posts about them). I actually don't like rider floorboards and have no interest in ever using them (Yes I've had them on other Bikes and didn't like any of them).
I did get a set of Caliper Mounted "MotoLights" while I was at the Hoot on my Silver VTX1800-C with the 50w bulbs and I've loved them both day and night. I plan to get another set of these lights mounted on my Rocket III as soon as possible .... they are pricey but they make an incredible difference in seeing at night and being seen in the daytime ... again IMHO!!!
CYa,
Rick

That's my opinion too. I like the Rivco boards and like dropping my heel off the back for a change of foot position. And they do seem give greater clearance than the stock pegs.

I had floor boards on a few Harleys and found them to be comfortable and to offer some room for different foot placement. However, they did drag ini corners on the Harleys and one of the things I like about the Rocket III is the comparatively greater lean angle aforded by the stock pegs.
On the topic of heel and toe shifters, I actually liked this feature on the Harleys. Occassionally I would ride to work where a suit is standard dress. The heal and toe shifter let me change gear without scuffing the shine on my Johnston & Murphys.
