I AM a girl. Dropped the R3 twice (figured out what I was doing wrong, too!), first time had to get teen boys from down the street to help pick her up. Asked them if they'd be willing to help me pick up a big motorcycle, one of them asked if it was a Fat Boy. I told them "nothing that small..." Second time, it was at a gas station. By the time I hit the kill switch and flipped the side stand down (both times she went to the right), a nice man stopped, jerked her to her wheels, got in his truck and left. That time it broke the right hand mirror and turn signal, and pinched a wire somewhere so the signals wouldn't work but made a nasty noise!
Without the engine guards the R3 goes down pretty flat to the ground, boy was I happy when my engine guards finally came in! Haven't needed them since, fortunately.
Dropped the Valk Interstate a couple weeks ago, landed with her seat lying downhill. Two ladies stopped to help, I picked up the bike (about the same weight ast the R3 so my time at the gym hasn't been wasted), and went to put her on her sidestand. Over she goes again, but I caught her quickly. The road edge was so steep that even with the short sidestand that Valks have, it kept her pushed over. So the nice ladies held her until I could get back on. Sigh.
But I figure the little stupid things we do keep us alert to avoid the BIG stupid things that get people hurt or killed.
