lean angles??
Anyone know what the max lean angle is on a Rocket? Tempted by the new roadster or a BB T-bird but which do you reckon would corner harder?? I've only grounded my foot a couple of times during 40k miles on my 955 Sprint ST but it's time for a change....

Don't know the degree of angle, but I know on my '07 rocket I could grind the hero blobs off at will,
even before I put the car tire on it,
and I think it had more clearance with the pegs than the boards but,
you can still get just as far over as your - let you go.

Lean Angles
Don't know yet. I only have 650 miles on my new Rocket III, and mountain riding is getting slim with winter setting in. I did make one ride (two up) up to Jonas Ridge, north of Morganton, N.C. on Hiway 181. Fast sweepers , occasional left right left off camber and I didn't scrape anything.
This is coming off of my 03 SprintST. I had many runs during the 5 years I had my Sprint, but I never ground anything down then either. Of course the Sprint wasn't 700 pounds plus, so forgive me if I sneak up on this one.
I am probably getting too old

oldsprint,
heck bro, we're all getting older.
Thats a blessing right?
We rode the Tail of the Dragon back in May,
I was fairly new to the darkside so the first time down,
I was pretty conservative.
The second time down, I had a blast.

I think the reason the foot pegs were relocated on the new Rocket Roadster was to improve lean angle and riding position, so my vote in the Roadster vs BB T Bird is - Rocket Roadster should have the greater lean angle. ( And my riding hat is tipped to any with the skill to experience this performance improvement. )
Have they published the HP number and max speed for the Roadster? I have seen the torque number but no mention as to what the computer speed limit is for the new bike.
Regards

Hi guys
Triumph say the Roadster is limited to 120mph by the electronics, and now makes 146bhp. That's fast enough for me! Some reports I've read say the torque is also restricted somehow in the first two gears, just like a normal R3, so someone must be working on a de-limiter by now?

I'm sure they are--but why? You can break traction way too easily as is, and the dang thing can practically pull tree stumps, so why would you want any more in the first two gears???

I fall squarely in the 140 hp is enough for me bracket and 120 mph is certainly fast enough, again for me. But the dealer has a turbo charged Rocket for sale for those that really really want to experience speed.
Diego, is the 120 limit applied across the board to all Triumphs? I bet it was tough for Triumph to not go after the Vmax or Hybusa (and all the other hyper speed bikes) with the Roadster.

Lean Angles on R-3
You ran down the dragon utilizing the force of the dark side?
Man, you guys are too much for me. I woudn't think of going dark on the dragon, or the Cherohala Skyway. Anyhow I am continuing to explore this Rocket III, yesterday went on a great two hour ride with the better half. This is my first ever cruiser so I am getting used to a whole new way of riding. I believe I actually looked around during the ride for a few moments, that doesn't happen much when you're riding a sport, or sport touring bike.
Like it so far.

At this point, I couldn't even confirm if it applies to the Roadster; and if it does, I couldn't be sure that's true in all jurisdictions.

I doubt it...at least, not the Hayabusa. Way, way too different critters.
