I was taking notice of how much backfiring I was getting on decelleration on the way to the dealer.

After re-mapping, I didn't notice even one iota difference.

Me thinks I wasted $35.

What's your mod setup and did the dealer tell you which tune they put in? I don't want to put down dealers, but there seem to be a fair number of incompetent ones and maybe they didn't put in the right tune. I'm just glad my dealer is a good one.

I have the TORs with cat by-pass and a K&N. Dealer didn't tell me the code but I mentioned 20056 when I checked the bike in. I should have verified.

I will have that exact same setup once I get the TORs and bypass pipe installed, hopefully later this week.

I believe the Triumph approved code for that is the 54 one:
20050 Standard silencers with cat
20051 French 78.1KW version
20052 German 72.1KW version
20053 Aftermarket silencers with cat
20054 Aftermarket silencers with cat box removed
20055 Standard silencers without cat
20056 Aftermarket silencers without cat

Your dealer probably installed that tune, but I've heard from others here that the 56 tune eliminates decel popping a lot more.

I'm kinda torn which tune to suggest to my dealer. The "correct" one (20054) or the one that seems to work better (20056). I wish I knew more about what the actual differences are between the tunes.

RiderRocket Man has highlighted the correct tune for your setup...20054. Bear in mind that the popping may not completely disappear .... :gpst:

C'mon Guys, why all the bitching about the decell popping that is hardly an indication of whether the bike is running OK.
If it was popping during acceleration I would be worried, other than that just ride the bloody thing and enjoy

This is quite right. My bike runs great with the throttle on. Who cares what it sounds like with the throttle off? In fact all that blapping and farting sounds pretty menacing. I like it.
