Clearview GT25

Hi Peeps, winter is looming and mornings getting a little chilly at 05.30 have been looking around and found the Clearview GT25 from the USA which may make my jaunts a little more bearable. They are more than willing to ship to the UK but before I spend the mega bucks (shipping rather than screen is the bugbear) wondered if any of you had experience of this screen or Clearview as your comments would be appreciated
Cheers

Hi Grizzly, I am an expat Brit from "southern central England".

Clearview have an excellent reputation and make great screens for all kinds of bikes - I have several friends who swear by them.

As for this particular screen, I have two friends that have, use and love them - and I just ordered mine!

I hope that helps.

yep,
got one.
Really like it.
Good quality.
Better than stock.
You realize you have to have the mounting hardware from an original triumph screen don't you?
Not the fixing kit, well, you'll need that too,
but the chrome that is on the windshield from a stock screen.
None of the replacment screens I've seen come with it.

They don't come with it for a couple reasons which I've explained on other forums but in a nutshell, National Cycle has the proprietary rights and produces all Triumph screens as well as the corresponding hardware and suffice to say, National is very possessive about that.

Of course there is no reason why I can't replicate the hardware or you for that matter.

No complaints about the quality. They work better than the stock Triumph shield because they're wider and don't have cutaways at the bottom. 25" is pretty high - 4" over stock. Are you a giant?

Wouldnt of said so but other half held tape across fitted screen and 25'' comes up just under my line of vision so hoped with deflection all that cold air should go right over my head

You can't go wrong witha Clearview

I put a giant Clearview on my R3T (search for related posts on this site).

It may be tall but it blocks a lot of the wind and I love it. The "Goldwing-style" air vent provides enough of a breeze to keep it comfortable.

Quality is probably better than the Triumph OEM stuff, or at least on par.

You can't go wrong.

(I must state that I am not affiliated with the Clearview folks--I just like the one product I bought from them for my R3T.)

I have the 23 inch Clearview with the Gold Wing vent on my Classic. If and when I get my new 2010/11 R3T next year I will be ordering one for that as well.

On my Classic (what few times I have ridden it in the last year and a half) it shields the wind pretty well and having the vent gives you the option of some "breeze" effect when you want it.

I will probably see if I can order the chrome stuff for the stock windscreen so that I can have both available if needed as you do (as someone has already noted) need the pieces to install the Clearview onto the bike as it does not come with the hardware. At least it should be a breeze to take on and off with the quick release.

I got the 25" Clearview - it arrived and I installed it yesterday... Been out for a 'test ride' this morning - It's AWESOME!

I am not a giant either, 6' and it is perfect for me, I can easily see over the top for normal riding or I can duck down and look through it if I choose.... I got it with the optional vent also - and I was using it even today (63 degrees) to get a draft.

I cannot commend Clearview enough on their customer service either; I had a minor issue when it arrived, I called them and Craig (the owner) called back with ten minutes and fixed my issue on the spot.

I thoroughly recommend them / their products to anyone.
