A tale of three dealers

First dealership lost it's Triumph backing, ( Backroads of jacksonville NC ) Second dealer lost its Triumph backing ( Capitol triumph of Raleigh NC ) Now the third dealer Steal Dreams of Fayetteville has been bought out by Britt motor sports and changed to Hotrodz's of Fayetteville.

Way back in june I had my Rocket died on the side of the road . I had to call all three dealerships and in the end through attrition my bike ended up at the Fayetteville NC.

Now The good news , John in the service department at the new Hotrodz of Fayetteville has made things happen , my dear Red Rocket has had the transmission upgrade performed to it ! They also have found that all of the teeth on the Drive shaft have been striped off ...... Triumph says NORMAL WARE AND TEAR ? ( 21,000) miles on my bike ,, I do not think ANY MOTOR COMPANY WOULD DESIGN A DRIVE TRAIN THAT WEARS OUT EVERY 20-25 thousand miles as a normal engineered item ? They sent in pictures and hopefully Triumph will err to the side of the consumer ( ME ) and cover it with the rest of the fixes. Even though I have have READ OF MORE AND MORE DRIVE SHAFT AND FINAL DRIVE FAILURES HERE LATELY !

So to sum up I am keeping my fingers and Toes crossed hoping that TRIUMPH is as I have always thought a TRUE STAND UP MOTOR CYCLE COMPANY and my Red Rocket is back to me shortly. My other Triumph bikes are lonely for their big brother!

Hi, I am also starting to wonder about the reliability of the Rocket. About 10 weeks ago the trans crapped out and I had to transport it to the dealership. Trans was fixed and upgraded along with a couple of other upgrades also. I picked up the bike and started to ride home, got about 1hr from the shop and ground to a halt on the side of the road. Shop came and collected the bike. This time the journal had caught the side of the camshaft, sounded real nasty, this was about 4 weeks ago. Photos have been taken and sent to UK, still no result from them yet as to what caused this. The bike has only 6000km on the clock, and still under warranty. I have never had so much trouble with a bike and wondering if there will be more problems. I think there might be more trans, driveshaft etc problems than we realise. Love bike but ........
