Cruising Down The Columbia

I was riding with a friend a few weeks ago when I spotted this scene for just an instant. We were on our way from Hillsboro, OR to Seattle, WA for a pizza. Yup, I said pizza. If you gotta ask you don't like to ride. I made a mental note that this river house was just a few miles down Washington Highway 4.

I returned with all my camera gear the next weekend at sunrise. The lighting was perfect so I set up my tripod & gear and fired away. The resulting photograph now hangs on my wall as a matted, framed work of art. I tried twice again to return to that same spot but weather fogged me in both times. I guess this is as good as it gets.

Dang it, Bob. You capture well what riding is all about.

And, not keeping it to yourself, you share these great finds with the rest of us.

Kudos!

Bob, excellent shot!

I would say you had a great ride - not only pizza, but a fantastic picture as well!

Ya know, on the pizza ride to Seattle my friend, Warren, & I didn't stop to take pictures. I just made a mental not of where I saw the "Kodak Moments". I returned the following weekend by myself to capture what I'd seen. Warren normally wakes up around 10 a.m. so is not available for sunrise shots around 7 a.m.. I've return twice since that sunrise shot to try & capture the same shot with Fall foliage exploding. Both rides were somewhat disappointing because it was overcast & foggy. Now, the leaves have fallen so I'll have to wait another year to try again. It's a shame I haven't figured out how to be in multiple places at the same time. There are so many rides, such beauty, here in the Pacific Northwest. Oh, did I mention it rains a lot? LOL
