best of both world
Hi everyone I am obviously a 'newbie' trying to make the right choice .Beside aesthetic preferences and different styles of riding which are particular to each of us ,some questions subsist[at least for a newbie like me !] Is it possible to increase the power of the touring[Raask or staintune or Tor]exhausts, Tuneboy remaping [so far so good] what about higher velocity rating and possibly tougher compound tire ? to cope with increase power and torque,. and frame torsion. alternatively modifying The Classic could be an option Ps does the classic ride like the standard ?Comfort and ergonomics are also significant components[a good seat ,progressive suspension to absorb pot holes and the like while keeping a soft ride ,bringing backward the gear selector and brake pedal so that I can use my feet and legs to support myself rather than using my tale bone has anyone tried the Raask repositioning options?] I understand that I might have to compromise somehow on certain points but I would much appreciate your opinions ,you guys have been finding many solutions by experimenting different options.I would like in a small way to contribute ;Cycle spinner or motopark product could be useful to turn around in your garage also I could not ride without the help of an air hawk cushion ,I thought it was a gimmick but I can vouch that it does work.Any rocket 3 riders in Melbourne ?thanks for your assistance, Riding free.

Riding Free,
Thats a lot of questions you got there bro,
I'll try to answer some of them for you.
Better seat: best on the market, hands down is the Russell Day Long Rider.
Better shocks: Progressive 440's.
increasing the HP: Get a standard tune at the dealer, and remove the secondaries at home.(for the torque increase)
There are rear sets available besides the Raask ones.
I run a car tire, much better in my opinion, in alot of ways.
No hydroplaning, better mileage, lower cost, etc..
Hope this helped you a little.

Skip I'm intrigued what type of car tyre do you fit on the rear, how does it compare to a bike tyre when cornering etc? Most car tyres have are reasonably flat, a deliberate shoulder and then the sidewall, whereas the bike tyre is obviously rounded. Does the tail-end slip away from you in the wet?
I’m assuming you’ve got a stock bike tyre on the front?
Cheers
Steve

Steve,
Please use the Search This Forum feature for references to "dark side." There is quite a bit of information in existing threads.

Charlie, do your search just in this forum. From the page that lists all the message threads in the Rocket Science Forum, use the Search This Forum option.
