hello from down under

Hi , gentlemen just new member to this forum,I have been reading a lot of your comments about the Rocket III. I did make the mistake to follow a good friend who is looking at HD and then made the fatal mistake to drift to the Triumph part of the store!!!.Since then my free time disappear on this site! I have tried the standard ,great power but not comfortable for me ,the Touring which is very tempting especially if it is possible to regain some power .I have not tried the Classic yet but the handle bar is better for me than the Standard.I presently ride an 1150 GS with air hawk {back surgery}.I am trying to decide between the classic and the touring [it is a nice problem to have ].I really enjoy reading this forum ,a lot of info and good helpful suggestions,I am impressed by the general friendly spirit.greetings Riding free.

Welcome! I can only comment on the Classic. I have 27,000 trouble free miles. Rivco makes a riser that brings the handle bars back about 2" that could be used on the standard as well. Happy hunting.

Thank you for your suggestion Snuffcityrider.Half of my trouble will be gone when I decide between the Classic & the Touring each one has some advantages,is the classic easy to ride on small "twisty" roads? Thanks again for your help.Ridding free.

Just curious what model HD is your friend considering..? It wouldn't take much to make the standard comfortable new seat and floor boards.Power is addicting once you get used to it. I'd love to see Triumph come out with faster rocket ..

I agree it is great to have some power at hand to overtake quickly or to get out of a tricky situation and I am wondering if the touring has enough or if you definitely need the power of the classic or standard ? Here in Victoria it is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid speeding ticket [unmarked police cars and cameras to raise extra revenues]so 140 km/hour 160,is the maximum you might get away with only on country roads.and for short bursts !!! give us some autobands!
