Question ideas on Sat Nav mounting

Has anybody got ideas about mounting sat nav on a rocket. The way the RAM mount fastens to the handlebars is in my view crude & ugly, "U" bolts should have gone out years ago. The fitment of sat nav to mount is fine but not the way it fastens to the handle bars, so any ideas out there for a differnt method or means of hiding the "U" bolt under the handle bar mounting yoke. I'm sure there are ideas out there.

Generally always been able to finagle some solution with a techmout (techmounts.com). I agree with you regarding the U-bolts..a tad crude lookin'.

I got one of these off of eBay, much less intrusive than any other mount I've come across. It uses the stock bracket that came with my Nuvi.

There's also this one for the Zumo:

Love mine, as does everyone at bike night. I did find that the gps unit would angle down under acceleration but a bed of crazy glue across the bottom of the ball took care of that.

I use the Powerlet GPS mount. It looks good allows for a short (8") powercord and allows me to quickly remove GPS from bike without tools. It fits all GPS or mounts with the standard hole pattern.

It gives you an accessory socket on handlebar, but it is the DIN (small) size outlet. The socket is wired directly to battery with its own fuse so I use it with batterytender to keep charged.
