rear end skip

It seems from time to time at diffrent speeds and throtle settings that the rear end slips when I roll over bumps. It makes me feel like there is slack created in the drive system when the tire bounces across the bump. Not sure if this is a proper observation.
Is the tire loosing traction? If so, would better rear shocks fix this by keeping the rear time more firmly in contact with the road?

If the slip is accompanied with a bottoming out then I suggest adjusting the stock shocks to a firmer setting repeat the bumb test and keep adjusting firmer and see if you can eliminate the condtion. My experience with my 05 was I needed aftermarket shocks to eliminate my problem. If you go this direction, you have the option of adding or eliminating shock height.
