2005 rocket ticking

First i want to start by saying i have the most awesome wife ever.she purchased me a 2005 rocket 3 all on her own last weekend. Let me say that again awesome!!!!!! This bike has so much power its unbelievable and looks to match very unique. I could not have picked a better bike if i had picked it myself, shifting is literally optional on this bike it pulls hard at any rpm in any gear. I could go on all day talking about things i love about this bike:but lets ask the question i need answered . I notice that i can hear a tick coming from the motor sounds like maybe lifter noise or cam noise is this a common noise for these bikes or is this something i should be worried about or maybe something needs adjustment . I don't know. The bike has 12400 kms anybody have any comments or info that would be helpful.

Do a search on "paint can rattle" or "cam chain" and you will get a lot of info. My 05 has had an occasional "rattle" for the last 55 thousand miles......needless to say it doesn't worry me anymore.

What a cool wife and great present.

Best advise, take the bike to a dealership and ask them to confirm the correct tune software is installed, ask them to listen for the cam chain rattle and inquire about the factory upgrade package for your bike. You will probably see a reference or two about the upgrade kit when you search for paint can rattle or cam gear as previously suggested.

A tick is one thing, and the paint can rattle is another. You don't want the latter, so it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out by a pro.

I have another quetion my wife and I went out for our maiden voyage together and she is not happy with the comfort of the paasenger seat (as if) I'm looking for somthing a little more comfortable for her(and me) I have come accross a touring seat off a rocket cruiser 2008 do you know if this seat will fir on my bike 2005 rocket I can get it at a really good price. Everything else that I have found out there is crazy expensive. Also looking for a back rest for driver & passenger if anybody has these at a good price pm me. Thanks

Bill, there are already a number of threads on Rocket seats and pillion comfort. You may find what you're looking for in one of those.

Bill,
A "Classic" seat will fit.
A "Touring" off the Touring modrl will Not fit.
In other words if it came off a standard or classic or tourER, yes.
If off the tourING, no.
