YES! I just had it fixed, its most likely the tps! I'm in denver and my dealer was erico, they kept wanting to redo codes and that never worked so I had to investigate the problem myself and of course this great web-site had the answer! after telling erico about what I had found out they said they would look into it and get back with me? a week later I called them back and was told that triumph would'nt get back with them about my issue? B.S.! so then I decided to get more involved and called triumphs main head quarters myself because erico said that they could'nt get the approval to fix it under warrenty because mine had expired over a year ago, and untill they (erico) got approval from there triumph rep, they could'nt fix it?? B.S.!!! its replaceable through triumph, and they fixed it for free, they (triumph) had NO ISSUES about replacing the sensor even with my warrenty being out dated! and any rep for triumph can get the approval you will need, it does not have to be the rep that your dealer deals with! triumph knows they have a problem and have re-designed the sensor itself, so if your dealer plays the same (run around) game with you that erico tried to with me just call triumph and deal with them directly! they will replace it, no charge, if the problem is the tps, it might not be? but your symtoms sound almost identical to mine, so thats the reason I think its your tps! mines been fixed for over a week now and have had no problems with the new sensor.

TPS = throttle position sensor, for those who may not know.
(Just for sake of accuracy, Triumph does not design, build, or even specify the sensor themselves. But yes, there was at least one batch which has experienced a lot of failures, and Triumph has been getting on the vendors about it and trying to make things right for the customers. Glad to hear yours is doing well now, Yeti.)

Jesse, I'm sure Triumph will fix it at no cost to you,
if not find another dealer cause they've been fixing everybody elses that messes up, but a lot depends on your dealer.
I've got a '07 standard and my output shaft bearing went out the first year with about 6000 miles on it.
No problems since.
good luck.

my 07 Rocket III Classic/Touring...also, had to replace the output shaft at about 4,500 mi. Trouble with the throtle position control started shortly after. The problem became more and more frequent as the miles added up. Finally replace it at almost 15,000 mi. This solved the problem for about 400 miles, know it's starting all over again.
I love the bike, not happy with this problem.

Considering the primary and secondary TPS look exactly the same, and the plugs for them is identical, you might want to get another one installed.
I have heard of the primary failing and the dealers replacing the secondary by mistake and the problem seems to reoccur if that happens.
