Over the last couple of weeks the bike has not been going "well"
It was missing sometimes, and sort of "hung back" when opening the throttle...
It was even getting worse, until last week it would only work if the throttle was cracked open.

- I had even asked here "I always use the kill switch, is this a possible reason? "
Diego, of Georgia, USA had replied on the posting "I wouldn't say it's impossible, but it doesn't seem too likely. Starting and idle are the most likely to be affected. "
Thanks bro', you were spot on. It was not the problem.

I was clutching at straws!

The shop could not find the problem, and Triumph's first advice was to take it on a ride to see if it gets better or worse!!!
I was not happy !

Today the owner brought his own rocket in, and the mechanic swapped tanks and pumps...... magic, problem solved.

New pump on order, and a loan of a 1200 Trophy until the pump comes from across the water.

Future RIII owners should perhaps be GRATEFUL to us, RIII pioneers and forum members, for the learning curve, ours and that of our dealers.

But they won't

that sucks, seemed like triumph/the stealer just didn't want to pay for the problem search. good thing the 'owner' brought his bike in. otherwise, you would still get the run around. glad you're getting your problem solve.

This seems kind of curious that there doesn't appear to be any way to measure fuel pressure with the fuel tank on the bike and the engine running. I will have to look at the fuel rail next time I have the tank up. It could be that Triumph has an adaptor in their shop tool inventory that allows you to hook up a fuel pressure guage. The shop manual makes no mention of this. It does give a nominal fuel pressure of "3.0 Bar" which translates into ??? psi. Possibly there is a port or a Schrader type valve that you can attach a fuel pressure guage to....

3.0 bar = 43.5 psi
1 bar == 14.5 psi
