Going down I-88 in the Chicago area and lost my plate bracket. It broke off, never to be seen again. Has anyone else had this problem? I had a Kawasaki rider catch up to me and tell me it fell off. The only way he caught me was on an exit ramp. The bike looks great with out the plate covering the wheel. I may need to find a way to relocate it off to the side.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks for the replys. Some of the wiring was also damaged when the plate fell. I do believe this is a warranty issure and will be contacting my dealer.

I am having a side license bracket fabricated out of stainless steel. Hopefully done today. it will be a left side bracket, attaches to the bottom shock bolt. upon completion I will know price of this piece and will either put on this site or sell to a dealer. If you have seen the bike on this site with Kelly on the plates, it will look similar to that.

let me know if you, or anyone has an interest.

I would like to see what the finished product looks like. I like the look of the bike with nothing covering up the rear tire.

I definitely would have liked to do a side mounted plate and ditch the entire OEM plate/signal light bracket to show off that fat tire when I mod'ed my bike this winter, but then I would've had to figure out how to replace those rear signalers and it would've also blocked attempts to put saddle bags on. So I'm thinking, when I get some hard bags, I'll fab a plate holder and turn signals into them and be free of that rear plate bracket for good.

guys

The bracket should be done today. One was completed, but bent incorrectly. it is being made out of mirror stainless.

R-3 is interested in carrying this item "if" they like it I will try to get photo's and request assistance posting them.

I do not have "bags" on my r-3. I am considering moving the signals to the metal brackets where the reflectors used to be.

will let ya know
