R3T OEM Auxiliary Lamps & Corbin Fairing

Does anyone know if the OEM auxiliary lamp kit (part# A9938085) will fit with a Corbin Fleetliner fairing mounted?

I really wish the Triumph site offered a few more details on their accessories. "Auxiliary Lamp Kit 4.5" doesn't tell you much. What type of beam - spot/fog/other? Lamp type and power? Since the R3T comes with an "Aux Lamp Switch" is there also an "Aux Lamp Power Connector" in the head lamp bucket or maybe under the tank? If this connector exists, then are the aux lights also switched by the hi/lo beam (only on with hi beam or low beam)?

Anyone have some answers? I sure would appreciate any help.

I have the aux lights on my R3T. They are spot lamps, 35w halogen.
I installed them myself. There are two connectors under the tank.
No connection in the headlamp bucket.

They operate whether the headlamp is on high or low.

As for the Corbin fairing, I don't know. I think I recall reading on another forum about some issues fitting the lamps with the fairing.

Like Crazyman says they're dual spots, connect under the tank, & work independent of the normal Hi/Lo beams. They are switched by the already installed switch on the Hi/Lo housing. Its fairly simple to do. Loosely install, run the wires, make the connection, & tighten it all up.
It looks like it should fit with the Fleetliner installed. The spots do sit above the wiring/mounting bar, instead of below as the turn signals do. But I don't think it would intrude into the space needed for the fairing. I would definetly want verification from Corbin before I spent the bucks, just to be sure.
If you should go ahead with the project, please post back with pics & a ride report. It does look like a classy alternative to the clear screen, just wondering if its more effective too.

Also by the way, the way mine are aimed they make a BIG difference for night riding, and the extra visibilty doesn't hurt for making the cagers see me.

Thanks for the answers. I've read of issues with the fairing on the R3 Standard and Classic but nothing about the Touring. I believe the others mount directly on the forks instead of the turn signal bar. Would you happen to know if the existing switch powers the lights directly or thru a relay?

The fairing was ordered in early March so I probably have a few more weeks to wait. I have a Scootworks Trunk and Wompus luggage rack waiting to be mounted - was going to do that this weekend - BUT -

On the way home from work yesterday, while stopped at a red light, the small pickup truck in front of me decides he wants to turn right instead of going straight. He backs up to give himself room to manuever into the right turn lane. Problem is, I'm directly behind him. Now, I have a mangled front fender and scared and slightly twisted forks.

No one hurt and the bike didn't go down. All my shouting and blowing of that wimpy horn did no good. He didn't realize I was there until his rear bumper rode up on top of my front wheel. Taking the bike in for an estimate this morning.

Again, thanks for the help.

Corbin "assured" me, on the phone, that the fleetliner will fit with aux lights on the R3T. I just haven't had the guts to order it, coz if i get it all the way out here to OZ and it doesn't fit, it's going to be a real pain.

Love to know how it all goes.

The aux light bar replaces the turn signal bar. The switched relay resides under the tank. The auxillary light wiring jack simply plugs into the existing relay. Trust me when you look under the tank it will be fairly simple to make the connection.
That had to be a scary moment when you realized you were getting some unasked for front-end customization. Glad you're OK & that it wasn't worse. I guess getting the fairng mounted will be part of a larger sorting out for you now.

Pete: I understand your apprehension I have the standard windscreen & the aux lights mounted on mine. Just from looking at the pics of the Fleetlined it seems as though there is ample clearance to mount everything up properly. But until I've seen it I'd be holding on to my money too

I didn't expect that. I thought the pic on the Triumph site was just a generic photo and that the lights would actually mount on the existing bar.

Plans are simply on hold for a while. Dealer will contact me Monday with a repair estimate. Being the optimist, if this is the worst accident I ever have, I'm in good shape. Also using this as an opportunity to have the TOR installed and a slightly delayed first service performed. Didn't want to give up the bike for those few days so I kept putting it off.

Looking back, I can see how I might have prevented this. When I pulled up behind the truck, I stopped about ten feet behind him, right in the center of his "blacked-out" rear window. I KNOW BETTER THAN TO DO THAT! Had I been to the left a little so that I could see and be seen in his side mirror, this may not have happened.

I do a lot of night riding and try to ride year-round (except snow/ice). The fairing and more lighting are absolutely necessary. I'm willing to be the guinea pig here, so will order the light kit and see what happens. Will probably be several weeks before I have the bike back and everything together in order to provide a definite answer.

Ride Safe,
db

The instructions for the aux light kit are very straightforward, no real specialized skills are needed just take your time. I misplaced a small spacer that mounts between the lower clamp & the bar bracket was the worst problem I experienced.
Good luck with your repairs & improvements. Hope they come about with the minimum of problems, & maximum satisfaction.
Keep us posted, I think its a going to be a good looking & effective improvement.

Would someone who has the OEM lights fitted to their R3T be able to post a picture?

I am about to buy a new R3T and have been planning to buy the lights along with other extras such as the longhaul seat, quick release sissy bar, alarm etc but have been worried about how the lights mount and look on the front of the bike.

Thanks in advance.
