Correct Torque for Spark Plugs

Hi,

I have the full Triumph Rocket Service Manual (2007), but I can't find the correct torque setting for the plugs, does anybody happen to know this ?

I know the Rocket uses the same plug as my old 97 900 Sprint, where the plugs are tightened to 18 Nm.

Thanks
Steve

Not sure what the specs are for the Rocket, but the plugs I just bought for my car had the torque specs on the box. 15 - 20 NM I believe. So the 18 NM you have sounds right.

My father is an old mechanic and he said the way they always did it was to tighten them down till the crush washer, then another half turn. Not sure where that puts you as far as torque, but seems like a good rule of thumb. I guess I always just made them as tight as they were when I took them out.

Hi,

Just interested as I could'nt find the spec anywhere and am considering swapping out the regular plugs for an Iridium set sometime in the future; nothing urgent (this is a new bike).
