First Problem

I bought a used R3 last October and have put over 3K miles on it and have enjoyed it a lot! I went riding the other day and the bike started to die at idle when I slowed down to make a stop or a turn. It will not stay running when parked in neutral either. I have read the threads on this problem and hope the dealer can fix it. I am taking it to the dealer Tuesday which is a four hour drive away. I hope they can sort it out and it does not happen again like it has to some other members. I'm also looking at getting a Scrambler for a dual purpose bike as well. I'll post the results when I get the bike back and will hope for the best.

Yes, that would be the lovely primary throttle position sensor. I just recently went through the same thing at about 38,000 miles. I have 42,000 now and running great!

...or an air leak, or a throttle body imbalance, or a bad O2 sensor or crankshaft sensor, or the recalled tune, or possibly an injector problem. While a TPS can have a bad spot anywhere along its range, including near idle, it's usually somewhere between there and mid-range. Lots of things to check, in other words.

Problem Fixed

The throttle problem was the old 386 recall and they had fixed in no time. I hope I will not have this again anytime soon. I also picked up a '08 Scrambler that was on closeout. Now I have something else to buy accessories for!
