risers for a 97 sprint

I am looking for ways to raise or remove clip on type bars for a more upright riding position A week or so past I saw a set that sold on ebay that appeared to be what I was looking for, I believe they were heli bars but company rep says they don't carry anything for that model. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

I am not sure what handlebars you have fitted now? e.g. Clip-on type bars were not standard on the Sprint (but were fitted to the Daytona and Speed Triple). I guess Ebay item 140258761367 may have been what you saw? Refitting "standard" bars would also increase height, if you indeed have clip-ons?

The Sprint was originally fitted with the bars from the Trident, but some Sprints (like my '96 Sprint) left the factory with lower bars as fitted to the later Sprint Sport - but some also still with the Trident bars - it was hit & miss which ones you got, apparently.
- Both of these "standard" bars can have their height increased by fitting 'riser blocks', such as those offered by Genmar or Sprint Manufacturing ( http://www.triumphparts.gbr.cc/30122...earch=&sought= ).
Obviously, if you have the Sport bars, then just fitting the Trident bars will also increase height.

There is also a third offering for the Sprint which is an adapter plate that fits on top of the top yoke (triple tree), replacing the "standard" bars with conventional risers and a 7/8" normal handlebar. The one I know of, is the Super-bike Kit made in Germany by LSL ( http://www.lsl-motorradtechnik.de/php/index.php ).

Hope this helps?
Geoff

I use(d) a set of bars from a 97 Trophy.
Stock cables fit ok, I did replace the throttle cable
and used a 97 Trophy cable, no problems
