Which dials will work T3

Simple question,

Don't like the nasty plastic clocks on my 92 Trident, do you know any replacements other than the early speed triple (as there hard to find)....i quite like the bonnie's for example.!

I could be wrong, but I don't think any Triumph clusters from after the T3 series will work. Our bikes have mechanical speedo drives, whereas the later ones are electronic. There are lots of 3rd-party units available, but they're not necessarily affordable. Motogadget & Electrosport are probably good places to start looking.

Cheers,
-Kit

Early bug eyed Speed Triples (T509) have cable driven speedos, Roden fitted a set to his Sprint Speed III.

D'oh! You are correct. Still, if T3 Speed Triple clocks are rare as hen's teeth, T509 clocks are like rooster's fangs...

Hi,

I think the T300 Speed Triple clocks are essentially the same as those of the T300 Thunderbird/Legend/Adventurer/Thunderbird Sport (although with white faces instead of black faces). You may need to change the speedo drive to get the correct speed/gearing, I guess?

Also, I think I remember seeing a casing for the T500 clocks? Possibly from one of Triumph's main agents in Germany, and part of a kit to convert the 955i into their SBF Triple King model (using a standard T5 Daytona twin headlight naked, etc..)?

Geoff

If the dollar to pound conversion and the price of shipping were more favourable, I'd snap those clocks up myself. The chrome ring around my tach has been damaged since I bought the S3 and at some point the gauge has had water in it and the cup at the back is rusted badly. The only differences between the T'brid clocks and the S3 are the white faces on the S3 and black on the T'bird.
Anyone know of any S3 or T'bird clocks closer to Aust?

I've been looking at a new Thruxton at work and the clocks look very similar to my S3 and I'm sure they would fit. The Thruxton also has a mechanical speedo drive. One difference is the cups on the back of the gauges are plastic on the Thrux while my S3 one are rusting metal.
