Knack Knack
Me thinks that perhaps my sprag is wearing out on my 96 Sprint. I have noticed that the dreaded engine stop and the loud KNACK is happening more lately. This is only the case when the engine is cold and I perhaps do not have the choke on enough. Also can happen if the engine is warmed up and I still have the choke on a little and come to a stop. In any case it is during low rpms. I used to have the idle set at about 1k, but have moved it back up to 1.5k.
My questions are:
1. what is the prognosis based on group experience.
2. is it an inevitability that this thing will get worse?
3. If I go on a trip, will this problem keep me from being able to start my bike, if so will I still be able to pop the clutch and start it on a roll?
