just bought a 3 into 1

i just bought an indigo 3-1 system on ebay for my speedy.

just wondering what anybody knows about these systems, apparently they are pretty rare nowadays and used to be very expensive new.

will i need to re-jet?

Good on ya mate. I think any 3 into 1 one for these bikes are a bit rare but the indigo does look choice.

If it is a really open muffler re-jetting might be in order, trypcil is the jetting guru around here!

Maybe fit it up, run it and do a plug chop plus seat of the pants will tell you. You know its going to sound good, I wouldn't be able to wait to get the thing bolted on....

Cheers,

Roden

3 into1

Hi Hedgy,

When I bought my S3 from a guy in Taranaki it had a 2 peice 3 into 1on it.
This was a copy of the original Triumph type (Sebring?)beautifully made by Meadspeed (New Plymouth?) in stainless. It was very noisey but probably added about 10 bhp, used standard jetting and had some muffling.
Since then I have reverted to the stadard pipes and mufflers (I'm pretty sedate on the road and not really into max speed/power) and like the stock sound. Definitely suggest try first on standard jetting - ear plugs might be the first thing you need. I will try and find a photo to email to you. Good luck - Kiwigeoff

KiwiGeoff, that is a beautiful exhaust and a really generous offer by you to allow me to use it and kinda blows me away! I just wouldn't feel right using your system though, so I will decline but if you ever want to part with it, give me a yell!

Phillip Island will be a blast, I promise myself every year that I'm going and for one reason or another, I don't. This year I really want to do it.

Might see you guys there...

Cheers,

Roden

3 into 1

Hi Hedgy and Roden.

Just finished watching a rerun of Rossi v Stoner at Laguna - breathtaking till Stoner ran off track. Expect more at Phillip Island. This will be my 4th visit and have got seats in the Lukey Heights grandstand this year. Gee if I lived in Sydney I'd be there every year without fail. The Gp Travel office do a great package tho.

Couple of pictures attached of the 3 into 1 mounted up as it was when I bought the bike. The front pipe follows round the side of the sump so that it is not the lowest point.

Cheers for now - Kiwigeoff
