1200 daytona engine breather

hello out there this is the first time i have posted a thread so be gentle with me.
I have a 93 1200 daytona with 2700 miles on the clock
and when i go for a ride and come back there,s oil under the airbox.
It,s comeing from the engine breather.the same thing is happening
to my friends 1000 daytona .
I have had the mod that goes on the end off the crank that supposed to deflect the oil from the breater-outlet but it is no better .
ON my 900 sprint the breather is taken from the other side
clutch houseing and causes no ploblem.
does anybody think i could put a 900 houseing and put it on my 1200 and take the breathing from there/?????
THE other thing i am going to try first is run the breather pipe throu a container on the way to airbox to try and catch oil before it reaches airbox
anyone got any ideas????

bjbiker,
Firstly welcome to the site.
Secondly always remember advice is worth what you paid for it.

I have a 96 1200 and have no such problem. The design may be different on yours but on mine the breather pipe goes from the left hand side crankcase cover to a fitting on the front lower side of the air box. Excess oil from the engine could be being sent up into the airbox. There's a drain pipe at the back or the airbox to allow the overflow to escape but it may have a drain plug at it's end. If there is oil in the airbox unable to escape out the drain pipe then it could be leaking from the underside of the airbox on to the engine. So I'd check the oil level first, it might be overfilled.

hope this helps,
dc
