got to go

I'm selling my much loved, but now unjustifiable Speed Triple. I now have a baby girl instead. Just as much fun, but makes quite a different noise...

It's a black '95 Speed Triple, 30k miles, in very good condition. It's got good tyres, chain and sprocket and brake pads (ebc HH pads), I've fitted a K&N filter and a flyshield (makes a huge difference on any kind of longer journey!). There's also a black Baglux tank cover fitted. There are two seats, one of which has been cut down for the short of leg. I recently serviced the bike and had it MOT'd. It starts easy and runs fine. I've never had any problems with it.

I originally bought the bike intending to restore it to original condition but I've just had too much fun riding it! It's got a years MOT and is SORN at the moment. I've put the bike away every october and brought it out in May so it's hardly seen any nasty weather. It gets a full strip and service every winter in the shed so everything is in perfect working order.

The thing which lets the bike down is the paintwork; I always meant to get it resprayed but, well, you know how it is! The tank has a couple of dings in it and the rear bodywork is a little scuffed (just wear and tear, no cracks or damage!). Unfortunately I dropped the bike on some gravel last year and it has chipped the front mudguard and grazed the casing. Doh. I also replaced the mirrors.

So, there it is! Fabulous bike, the best of the early triples; all the stomp and handling of the Daytona but classy good looks too. I've loved driving it; the motor is sweet as a nut and pulls like a train! It's as good bimbling around town as it is blasting across country. They are getting rarer and rarer these bikes and are rapidly becoming something of a collectors/connoisseurs bike.

£1800 ono, buyer collects from Edinburgh. Mail me on mjwhome@yahoo.co.uk
