Trident Tourer?
I am just thinking ahead to next year and I am considering a trip down to the MotoGP at Catalunya. This will involve something like a 2300 mile round trip, two up. I could choose to take my Trident and this is probably the preferred option at this stage as the other half does not really like sitting on the back of my Aprilia.
I have fitted a Givi screen already (reduces wind blast but increases helmet turbulence/noise) and I am interested to discover other peoples experience of touring on the Trident and what modifications\accessories are available to improve touring performance. I have never been a great fan of top boxes but this could well be something I look at. I see Sprint Manufacturing list a rack kit for the model. My bike is a 1998 T309 900 with the twin hand rails on the rear.
Cheers.

Tank bag...Baglux works very well. Magnetic ones also do the job. Ventura do a rack & bag system that will fit your bike.

Mot,
Just been looking at your web site. Where did you get the rack for your Sprint? That should fit my Trident too. What do you use it for - box? Pack? How much weight will it carry?
Cheers.

It's a Triumph rack...it takes a max load of 5Kg allegedly, I got mine from Sprint Manufacturing, it was grey but I painted it black, he charged me £55, he also informed me that Triumph have stopped making them (new price £100) which would explain why they are fetching silly money on ebay (60-80 quid).
They do fit really well, they ditch the grab handles as it has some intergrated into the design I wanted one because it suits the bike better than others, lots of Trophy owners have them fitted so I know it will taake a top box. Another handy thing to look out for is a seat from a Trophy as not only are they a bit more comfortable but have 4 flip out bungie hooks on the under side of the seat that make strapping stuff on a breeze....recently tested with 20 cans of beer ;-)

I like the Givi saddlebags for touring myself. Long discontinued, often expensive if you can find 'em, but better looking than a top box, IMHO.
Mot- Does beer come in 5-packs on your side of the pond? How did you end up with 20 cans?
Cheers,
-Kit

Kit...it comes however you like it 4,6,8,10,15,18,20,24...I believe 18 makes the best single seat hump & about 100 quid cheaper than the Triumph part ;-)

Cheers for that. I think my choices will be limited by availability. I will keep my eye out for stuff on ebay and contact Sprint Manufacturing. On a recent trip down to Devon, I used my tailpack and tank bag. The tailpack is not an easy fit and a non-starter two up, so I need to sort something.

Another recommendation for the Ventura stuff, it has worked for me for a good while. I found that the rack tended to wobble on the L-brackets after a while, so I welded it up and it has been fine since. Link to supplier;

The 'Rentec' racks are too lightweight to be any use, I have broken two of them in a short space of time, thats just carrying a small Givi box with a spare helmet and waterproofs. To be fair to the supplier, he did replace the first one without any question, but the second one broke even quicker.

This is my bike. I found this second hend boxes. My friend help me to build the frame to mount them on the bike. I use them from 3 years, and I'm very satisfied.
Last journey with my bike - Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Slovensko and back - 2600 km. The boxes did they job well. Good luck finding your equipment.
