'95 Speed Triple Bar End Weights

Hi all,

I've been looking for OEM bar end weights for my 1995 Speed Triple for a while, since the bike didn't have them on it when I bought it. I'd finally decided to order them from iconwww.bikebandit.com, but I saw that they appear to be held in with a retaining screw. I looked at my bars, and they aren't threaded inside! What's the deal, guys? Did I unwittingly get the bike with aftermarket bars, too, or do the retaining screws grab on to an invisible block of Triumph Awesomeness inside the bars? Or is something else going on?

Help!

Welcome!

A picture might just be worth 1000 words here; are you sure you have the original bars? The originals do have threaded inserts.

Cheers,
-Kit

Yup mine are threaded too...the Speed Triple has about an M6 thread in the bar end for a retaining screw that passes through the bar end weight & the Sprint Sport has a about an M18 thread in it that the bar end weight itself winds into..

The good news for you is you don't have to order Triumph because a universal bar end weight will fit, they have an expanding bolt that will fit your bars, the choice should be wider and cheaper than stock ;-)

Definitely threaded. The aftermarket bars may be a blessing as universal weights are much cheaper. You will also have an easier time if you choose to put some bar end mirrors on. Just measure the ID and off you go.
