Advice please

Decided to use the Sprint sport this morning to commute to work as it is a nice day (60 mile each way commute). Just came into Leeds city centre and found I had a very wet left boot!!!! coolant P*ssing out of the jubilee clip/joint as the hose leaves the water pump (the bit where there is a small branch pipe??). Haven't had chance to have a proper look at it but need advice on possible "get me home fixes". Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Can you ascertain where the leak is coming from? Is it from a split in the hose or is the clamp loose? If you can get hold of a screwdriver, check the clamp.

If the hose is split right there at that joint, you might be able to cut the split piece off and reconnect the hose.

If you manage to find and patch up the leak, top up the radiator and overflow bottle with plain water, it will be good enough to get you home.

Hopefully, it didn't overheat.

Hope this helps,

Roden

Many thanks Roden,

Turns out to be the steel pipe has a few holes in it so I have managed to sleeve it with some tube and some jubilee clips, a steady ride home me thinks.

Thats great, I love a happy ending.

I also have a '98 Sprint Sports. It has lost is fairing and acquired a single 7" headlight and clip-ons. I never was much for fairings. Its a fun bike naked.

I hope your trip home is uneventful,

Cheers,

Roden.
