visual differences between 750 and 900 triples

Hi all,

I have been caught out twice now when looking at adverts for speed triples where i thought i was looking at a 900 but it was infact a 750. are there any visual clues that distinguish to two?

thanks

Eoghan

That might be all there is different. They are identical as far as I know.

I reckon a 750 would be cool to have - a bit rarer than the 900.
Are they fetching the same money as a 900 there?

looking at mine, 750 has the wheels from a trident, 6 thin spokes not 3 thick ones as on 900.
rear wheel is 18'' not 17''.
my swingarm is silver, not sure if this is the same on all 750's.i think on the 900 this is black.
brakes and forks are the same but not sure if someone has changed them from new.
ive also heard that 750 owners are much better looking than 900 owners, are much more virile and generally all round nicer blokes.

I do believe that only a limited run of 750 Speed 3's where made in '96 only. '94's and '95's where all 885's with a 5 speed gearbox and Brembo 3 spoke rims. '96 went to a 6 speed except the limited run of '96 Euro spec 750's that kept the 5 speed. I think they where basically leftover 750 Trident's with Speed3 body keeping the Trident's 6 spoke wheels, suspension and brakes. I don't know how many where produced with the leftover bits, but I imagine they would be fairly rare. Oh, and personally, I think ALL Triumph owners are generally good looking, virile, and all 'round nice blokes.!!
