Tank range?

I've read reports of people getting between 200-250 miles from their tridents before a need to refill....

My petrol light comes on at 130 miles....is this normal?
Thanks

I get about the same, give or take. I'm running with mikunis with a 3-2 stainless system.

I'm getting 200-220 out of mine, standard setup and I'm not particularly slow on it either.

all the other tridents and sprints I have owned all did similar mileage to my current one as well.

My petrol warning light packed up long ago, think its the sensor in the tank, but a new one is expensive so I have learnt to live without it. I go on to reserve around 150m. Average petrol consumption is 32mpg (imperial gallons). Its a thirsty bike, my car has the same fuel consumption and that has a 2L engine.

My fuel light comes on with about 1.5 gallons left in the tank. I pay more attention to the miles I've ridden than the light.

I fixed my fuel level sensor; the weld had failed. I used baling wire. I felt like a bit of a bodger, but it worked right up 'til the motor packed it in.

Anyway, there are many mileage threads on here. I got awful mileage on the 'dent & very similar mileage on the new Sprint. Most of the differences between people's mileage can be attributed to 3 things: US vs UK gallons, Mikuni vs Keihin carbs, & light vs heavy right hands. (I use US gallons & have Mikuni carbs & a heavy right hand.)

Cheers,
-Kit

My Sprint usually goes about 140 miles before the light comes on. I go on reserve at around 180 miles. I usually split the difference and fill up at 160.
I get about 34 miles to a US gallon.

I'm averaging about 27 mpg in town. When I rode cross country back in '99 I averaged about 30 mpg. Everything is stock except for my Micron slip ons.
