New Sprint owner

I'm not new to the Triumph triple though. I just traded a Legend TT (it was a great bike) for a 1997 Sprint. I've been active in the Classics and Cruisers section for the past 4 years.

What a great bike is all I can say....

Nice bike! I swapped a taller screen onto my '98 to give a "pocket" of calmer air right over the tank....works good. Now to check the "rattle" which seems to come from the alternator (uh, oh.....!).

There is plenty of info here on the alternator fix - its not hard to do for the mechanically inclined!

Congrats on a couple of nice looking Sprints!

Tommybro, you might notice some extra performance compared to your Legend!

Cheers,

Roden

Welcome, Tommybro. I was just broken down on I-95 in your town day before yesterday! (Better now, posting from New Orleans after a longish ride yesterday.)

Cheers,
-Kit

Zip,

Not sure exactly what the root cause is yet, & I'm waiting 'til I'm back home to really dig into it, but basically the nut on the eccentric adjuster wasn't clamping down. I had torqued it to spec after adjusting the chain the night before, but I was tightening against corrosion or cross-threading or something & it was actually still loose. Suddenly having your chain gain 2" of slack at 80MPH is no fun!

Cheers,
-Kit
