How many T-3's are there ?

I live in Southern California. I have a couple or T-3's. A Sprint and a Legend. I have noticed that I don't see any more around. Used to be a few years back I would see an older Thunderbird for sale now and then. Not anymore. I know of one other Sprint in a neighboring community, but I believe I have the only Legend in the area. I brought it in from Arizona a few years back, but I've never seen another one. It makes me ask the question. How many T-3's are left ? Does anyone else notice this ? ...J.D.

I'm in Scotland and there are plenty of old Hinckley (and Meriden) bikes around. I suppose I'm a bit closer to the factory. Probably helps being in the local TOMCC 😜. I have a 94 Sprint and a 95 Thunderbird. ☺️

It would stand to reason you would have a lot of these bikes in Scotland. I think it took a while for Triumph to get a foothold in the U.S. market after it came back to life. So you don't see as many Hinckley's here. There seem to be fewer of them every year. I have the two bikes I mentioned and a early America, but I think I have the only T-3's in my community of about 85-90,000 people. We have no Triumph clubs in the area. J.D.

Here in the Netherlands there are plenty t300. But most off them drive as lone wolf. I met some at Triumph riders Holland meetings. Most have the Hinckley as a second bike

I live in Santa Clarita Ca and see one every month or so. I have the black on black Sprint Sport and generally when I pull up someplace no one's seen one before. I get excited when I do see a T-3. I once heard they only sold two hundred Sprints in Ca. Through the 90s. I don't know if that's true or not. I bet there are several in garages that had the early sprag clutch failure like I have a 95 Sprint with 180k and a bad exhaust valve I'll get around to restoring when I retire. I think there weren't many sold here and a lot of them are in the back of garages waiting for that someday when the inspiration to fix them hits. When I went to visit my daughter in New Zealand they were everywhere. I once heard Australia was the first place they were exported to and I think people in that part of the world tend to take care of their things and cherish them in a way our throw away culture doesn't.

Mine is a bright red '95. I've owned it since 2002. The original owner bought from the Triumph dealer down in the South Bay area. I live in Hesperia. There is one I know of in Apple Valley that belongs to a guy on this site. Mine was in storage for about 2 yrs. after it broke it's sprag clutch. I finally got it fixed in 2013. I don't ride it a lot but, I get the same response when I ride mine. Not something you see in this part of the planet too often. ...J.D.

They are mostly in my garage here in NJ
2004 tbs
1998 tbs
1995 thunderbird (parts bike)

I know of one other tbs in the area and an adventurer. Since getting my first tbs and becoming more aware of these older triples, I've still never seen any of the older T-3 sports on the road in the NY/NJ area.

Between me and my buddy we have 5 of them.

1 Trident
1 Daytona (parts bike)
1 Super 3
1 Sprint Sport
1 Speed Triple

Think the "newest" one is a 97 but im not sure.

Other than the ones mentioned above i rarely see any here in Mass.

Thanks,
Darin

Yeah me and the buddy grab for them with both hands.

He is looking at an Daytona 1200 se right now, and im looking for another beat up Daytona for parts for the Trident.

I have owned a few bikes, not as many as most people on this forum but my Trident is hands down my favorite bike.

Thanks,
Darin
