G'day chrisschef,

I'm guessing that this noise didn't exist before you did all that work?

I would strongly suggest revisiting all the work you did on the engine, step by step.

It could be a loose valve perhaps from a miscalculated shim selection (no offense intended re your abilities) or if you had the cams out, maybe the camchain adjuster is slack? If you carefully go back over your work chances are you will find the problem.

I wouldn't be running it until you find the source of this noise and resolve it.

Keep us posted,

Roden

You say that it makes the noise when you blip the throttle, so when under sudden load?

What about if you take up the revs gradually?

Also, have you ridden it? Does it clatter under load, when accelerating, or only when you blip the throttle?

If all is good with the valves and camchain and you are sure of the alternator etc, I would lean towards a gudgeon pin. Only saying that because its been on its side running, it could have starved for oil?

I hope its not that and something relatively easy to fix.

Cheers,

Roden
