While replacing the drive chain on my last generation Sprint I cut an extra link out of the chain making it a 108 size. I then rotated the round style chain adjusters forward 90 degrees so the new, shorter chain would fit. The rear end is about 1 inch lower and the wheelbase is about 1 inch shorter. I've had no problems with this set-up and the 1 inch is noticable in the lower seat height.
