93 Trophy 900 fork sliders

I am seeking some advice. A good friend has a 93 Trophy 900 with some very worn out fork sliders.
Should he get them hard chromed, or are there any readily available elsewhere?

Uhhh, that's what the bushings in the sliders are for....to wear out. New bushings, seals, and oil and should be right as rain.
Now get wreanching!!!

I might have explained it badly. The chrome fork tubes are, well, forked!!!!
1-2mm deep grooves worn in them. The chrome is actually worn off in places. I believe early Hinckley Triumphs all suffered from this affliction of poor quality chroming on fork sliders.
So he actually needs these rechromed, or a new set, or a change over set.
He is in Victoria, Australia. Where is the best place to do this, or deal with?????

No doubt he will replace the bushes and seals once he gets the tubes sorted

Hey Bernie, I haven't done a set of forks before but I have had experience with metalising damaged shafts and it is possible to re-chrome them.
There are definitely engineering shops around that can do this kind of work but I'm not sure of cost. It may be more cost effective to try and source another pair.

I can ring some engineering places I know and ask the question, can you supply some pics?

Cheers,

Roden
