Chilly ride
Well, I managed to start up the triple this morning (a little bit of help from a battery tender and some starting fluid...) and dragged it out of its spot of hibernation in the barn. After getting stuck in the snow several times trying to make it to the dirt road, I slowly managed to stop swearing and do some riding.
It hasn't been started in a few months but after letting it idle for a while everything was A-OK. A little chilly outside (I think its in the 30's?) but its better than sitting inside all day.
Now if I could only get it back up the snow covered hill and into the barn until next time I would be all set...

Those of us that live in more temperate climates probably take it for granted,
I mean, snow? I don't know what I would do if I encountered that.
The worst I have endured is a -2C frosty morning in winter. Invariably it will warm up into the teens after that!
You must be excited to get a ride in after so long - congratulations!
Cheers,
Roden

I managed to wake the beast up and get out for a short ride yesterday too. It warmed up enough this week that the last of the 14 inches of snow we got on Valentine's day finally melted off. Unfortunately we got two more inches last night so the roads are iced up again.
I don't mind the cold weather too much but I really don't like riding when the streets are icy.

Since it was 68 degrees out and the sun was shining, I decided to take the Super III out for a short ride today as well.
My short ride ended up taking about two hours 'cause I kept finding roads I had not explored yet. There are just so many. I'll never get to know them all enough to ever get bored here.
I love the Chattanooga area. The weather is near perfect and the roads are some of the best in the Nation for sure.

Another rust belt dweller here that got the Sprint out for a little spin. Saturday was a welcome day, 67 degrees AND the streets were dry. After a little coaxing (10 amps from the battery charger) I rode across town (7 miles) to look at an old van and took the long way home, a 60 mile deviation to the lake and around it. The 1,800 acre lake has 12 inches of ice on it and the temps dropped almost 10 degrees on the roads next to it. Glad I did it, Sunday was back in the 40s with a rain/snow mix.

Ride Soon
Tealem,
Hope all is treating you well upstate. I must admit that when writing my monthy garage rent check I'm a bit jealous of your barn
Get yourself some heated clothing and riding in sub 30 degree NY weather is doable. Check out a thread I posted on installing an aux outlet-useful for heated gloves, jacket, etc.

PM me and let's get a ride on the spring schedule!
Cheers,
-Scott

More winter riding...
Colorado was perfect last week. I rode to work W, T & F. Record high of 73 on Saturday the 1st. Didn't get enough miles in, but at least enough to put a smile on my face.
Played hooky on the 19th of February and rode all day. What a great Tuesday that was!

No way can I get my bike out yet.
It has been a very cold and snowy winter here.
I did take a three minute vacation this week by placing my new Corbin seat on a stool in the basement and sitting on it with my helmet on.
I know it is kinda Garrison Keylor, but I do live in Minnesota.....

Yes, the ride was great and the itch to get back at it is even worse now.
Now my problem is my bike is completely covered in mud and all my hoses are frozen solid!
