Well it is mid-December here. Time for maintenance. Last year it was the Legend's turn. This year I'll put the Sprint in "dry dock".I ran all the fuel out of my 900 Sprint and ran it's carburettors dry. I'm going to pull it's tank, seat, and bodywork for a look around. I know some of the wiring could use improvement. It is a '95 and I'm only it's second owner but there has been some things done that need a little cleaning up. I added a cigarette lighter under the dash years ago to plug in a charger. It is no longer used that way. The battery tender has it's own harness now. I plan to add a relay that turns on the lighter socket only when the key is on. This way I can use it for a heated vest or put a plug in USB to charge my phone, GPS or my Blue Tooth helmet. It has some small LED marker lights front and rear that were added some years back. They now run off of #1 ignition coil but, I plan to seperate that and connect them to the tail light curcuit thru the small push/pull switch they are currently using. While I'm in there I willl go over the chassis a bit, change it's oil and make sure everything is good to go for next year. Got my America to ride on the few days the weather is nice and the Legend gets to rest this winter. Just some ideas about how to spend the winter months. ...J.D.
