I Need Advice!

Ok Ive recently posted on my Dynojet install..... i installed the kit and with all expectation it didn't work.... flooded out.... so used smaller to smaller jet from kit and leaner settings from pin to air mixture.... nothing.... Ok it ran before i started to work on it..... so i put it back to normal and well still flooding out.... SO.... Ive come to exclusion i basically did all this carb. work to well waste my personal health..... So i took a spark plug out and placed it on a grounded wire to the motor.... NO SPARK!..... took out all spark plugs and placed the two 1-2 plug wires not touching metal..... placed third plug back in same location and spark.... UM????? do i have a grounding problem???? i just recently before put in a coolant sender......then i did my carb. job... now is that common for the plugs to do that because the other two where grounded while one was out??????? any answers? advice????? tried leaner leaner... not back to stock and NOTHING!!! i got get this thing done before bike week ! O YES..... 1996 Triumph Trident 900.....

Try the old cleaning of the low tension spade connectors to the coils for a start, they should be clean and bright and a good fit. I wouldn't imagine you have a grounding problem but just check the tightness of the relative contact points both at the battery and the alternator and that the battery's fully charged. What did you alter during the process, mains, emusion/needle jets, pilots or drill the slide - any 'process' to the changes, or did you just swap the parts and she then flooded when you went to start?

Well ive had a problem with the Tach and the coolant sender..... didnt know what the problem was with the tach.... so changed the coolant sender.... and in the process i did the dyno jet..... did those tubes main jets needles drilled the auxilary hole on the slide.... set the fuel mixture at what they said... nothing..... ran smaller jets in it with the needle valve almost closed.... still a wet plug.... the battery is dead so i just have a car 12v battery charger on high frequency pumping alot of volts to it to get it to crank good..... maybe thats a bad decision and shoudl get a new battery and try that? maybe the car charger is too much???..... and yes placed carbs back on with airbox nothing flooding.... placed it back to normal and still nothing..... it was terrible to start a couple months back.... but i just dont know.... tryed a volt meter on the coils and there working.... maybe i should try just a battery and no car charger on it? maybe thats pumping in to many volts throwing it off? alternator bad? but spark when all plugs are out and one is grounded.... so lost...

Get a battery tender! Tach is looped back thru' #3 coil, if the coil is going south or the spade connectors are gummed up and proper electrical contact is compromised - the tach will go spastic and you'll start missing on #3 cycl. Make sure of a good electric contact at all low tension connectors to all coils - and ensure a firm fit. If the battery is over 2 yrs old or of an unknown age - get a new one. The vacuum line wasn't kinked at all. heh?
A 130 Dynojet jet is comparable to a 120 Mikuni - Assuming the carb diaphragms are in good condition, those little O rings are in place and the float needle valve is not indented and them floats - well float etc... I would imagine that something like a main no more than 140, the clip in the middle or maybe down one or split, no change to the pilot and 21/4 - 3 turns out on the fuel screw. With all the airbox bits on, that is. My thoughts are that you have an electrical issue primarily and a tuning episode later, once she's running. Put some new plugs in her while you at it and gapped good! OEM's are fine:- NGK DPR 9EA-9 !

Trypcil hinted at it and I'm going to repeat it. A fouled plug can drive you crazy. I consider a plug once fouled to be garbage. They're cheap enough so put a new set in. Hopefully it will fire and you can get on with getting it to run right.
