Trident

A buddy of mine has a Trident he purchased quite a while back. He bought as is. 1970 something, can't remember exactly. The engine is seized. He's got the head off of it. What are some of the things we can look at to identify the problem. Crankcase? Pistons? Is there something notorious about them in this way ? Open to suggestions. Thanks. Speed.

His bike will be a T150 Trident, suggest you ask the question in the 'classics' forum

there are people there who will be able to help you.

The center cylinder was notorious for overheating. I think I'd start there.

I really don't want to think about middle cylinders on Tridents just now, even if we are off-topic & talking about the '70s version.

Speaking of off-topic.... Unless I'm doing my math wrong, a 64 cubic inch engine that makes 77 pound feet of torque should have a BMEP rating of somewhere right around 180 PSI, no?

Cheers,
-Kit
