I have been thinking about doing as front end swap for some USD's, but I'm trying to lose weight, not gain it. Maybe if I can find some Ohlins RWU forks then I'll consider.
Wheels are stock with black centres and polished then scotchbrited edges, same as engine covers. I'm not a fan of shiny chrome or ally. They're easy to look after; after a wash simply go over with some scotchbrite and WD40.
Thanks for the wheel response Hinckley, wheel upgrades are out of my budget at the moment.
I too have considered USD forks on the Super III. Have you weighed a set of USD forks in comparison to the standard set? I'd be curious to find out if there would be that much of a gain in weight.
My next question is would I be backing up since I have replaced the springs and added Gold valves too. Would there be enough of a gain in handling for someone like me to notice?

I have a Triumph triple clamp as well as a GSXR triple clamp down in the garage. I should get them out and take some measurements.
A set of GSXR forks are something like 5" shorter than the Triumph forks. I wonder what the longest set of USD forks are? I've heard it's those from a ZX12, but I cannot be sure.

Wheels.....

I need for someone to buy the Dymags off my bike... I want a set of PVMs but I have a big problem with shelling out 2K. But then again, I want them.

This is the set that I would like to get. I think they would look really nice on the Super III.

I guess 2K is less than the cost of a new bike. Do you think I could use that rational with Rochelle? Do you think she'd buy it?

I don't think so either.

I agree, I think those PVM's would look rather nice too!
I haven't had a set of USD's to weigh, no. My concern would be (as you noted) that the Triumph forks are very long. There's not much out there with fork length that would suit really, unless you got a set of white power's from a KTM, and then shortened the stanchions. I think though that that would be more hassle than its worth.
Lateraly thinking again, what about taking up some of the difference in length by using a new set of yokes, that would gain you some length.
How do you find the race tech valves? I'll be honest, they're not something I'm familiar with. Time for more research I think.

You won't be disappointed with RaceTech's Goldvalves. They make a big difference over stock. The next time you are inside your forks for seals, it would be worth it to add the RTGVs.

You know, if a person could make a set of CBR954 triples work, they have a drop to the upper clamp that would gain about 1.5" in length. I have my forks up through the upper clamp 30mm so that gains another 1"+. That is nearly half the difference in a set of GSXR forks. If the forks from a ZX12 are longer than the GSXR parts we may have a solution....

A custom made top yoke would be all you'd need. Allow it to give a 1.5" assistance and I think there could be more forks available. I will have a looksee.

I think the 954 triple clamp will give the 1.5" needed. I don't think a custom unit will be needed. The word "custom" scares me. $$ signs usually follow very closely.

The ZRX1200 forks I used on FrankenSprint are about 1.5 inch shorter than the stockers. I made up the difference by rotating the rear axle adjustors.

I wouldn't want to lose any clearance though. I'm already scraping pipes
I will make enquiries on other forums regarding lengths...
