I know its an old topic, but, has anyone successfully modified the existing canisters to increase the exhaust note? Not talking about gaining power or scaring the neighbors, just getting some audio feedback from the pipes, for what otherwise is such a great bike.
I don't know if anyone has done a "bafflectomy" on sport/touring T3 pipes, but I know the T3 classic guys do it all the time. I have a set of not-so-pretty regular Sprint pipes I could let go real cheap if you want to experiment.
if you are handy with a welder and a hacksaw (or know someone who is) then you could cut the ends off, remove the internals and replace with some perforated tube like this- http://www.beverlinmfg.com/
then wrap in exhaust glass packing, weld back together and bob's your mothers brother.

i drilled mine out of my trophy with the biggest hole saw bit i could jam in there. i dont remember what it was off the top of my head but i can look and get back to you if you want to know.made a noticeable difference. not so much at idle but get on the throttle and she sounds nice.
I did this on my '96 Sprint with a piece of rebar and an 8 lb sledge. I did it with the pipes on in, and it on the side stand. It took 3-4 goodly whacks until the baffles folded. It produces a better base note, but not a significant increase in volume. It had no apparent effect on the tune.
