Seat cowl on a Sprint
I hope this isn't a stupid question - will the seat and rear cowl off a Daytona 1200/900 fit a Sprint?
I'm sporting up my ride a bit, clip-ons are on the way and I'm thinking that a cowl would look pretty cool, anyone know?
Cheers,
Roden

Not a dumb question at all, & not that easily answered. Your '98 has the curvier tail section, whereas the Daytonas stayed with the rectangular headlight until the 955i. I would imagine that it would work, as the seats will swap, but I don't know for sure whether the cowl will line up properly with the bodywork.
Cheers,
-Kit

Hi,
I assume your Sprint Sport has either the pair of rear hand-holds or the accessory rear rack? Either way the front mounting points are in the way of the straight bottom edges of the cowl. With care you could shape the cowl to fit around the rear hand-holds. I have a "carbon-look" cowl, and intend to do this.
At Kit mentioned, the cowl is designed for the "older" square side/rear bodywork design, rather than the "newer" rounded side/rear bodywork design.
The rear mounting points hold the tail bodywork on, and I cannot think of anything neat to secure this, so I did not think it practical to remove the hand-holds and fit the cowl unmodified.
Hope this helps?
Geoff

Thanks Geoff, that helps alot. My bike does have the twin hang on for your life handles.
Is your carbon look cowl an aftermarket item, a Triumph item or something off another bike that you are modifying?
Thanks,
Roden

Hi,
I believe it must be an aftermarket item, as the Triumph items are colour coded.
I picked it up secondhand, and have no idea who the manufacturer would be.
Sorry, I don't think I can help.
Best regards
Geoff
