1996 Sprint 900 exhaust mods??

I want more sound out the old girl..she is just too quiet! With all the rumble of v-twins and the whine of the local sport bikes..my poor old 900 is getting no respect.

Does anyone know of an affordable exhaust mod??

I see D&D and Wolf make cans..there is Motad in England that offers a 3:1...and while I am sure all of these are worth it...I am on a budget!!

Thanks - Rick

I started by knocking out the baffles to see if it would help the sound. It gave a little better tone but not much louder. Next step was to replace the stock Sprint cans with cans from a Daytona 1200--$50 off Ebay. Again, a better tone but not a lot louder. Final step was D&D cans from Ebay. I love the tone (kinda reminds me of a big block V-8 winding out)but they are extremely loud.

My Sprint had D&Ds on it when I got it; and I found them both too loud and not particular soulful (and I do love the tone of the TOR on my TBS). I ended up swapping them out with OEM, which I found preferable; but they weren't only too quiet they were silent. I did a rebar bafflectomy this spring and I agree with Seumas; better tone but not much more volume. I am satisfied with that for now.

Are there any other cans that would be cross compatible (ie different makes or models)???

Obviously, if you have the right tools, experience and amount time you could make anything work...but are there cans from other makes or models that could be "easily" slipped on???

D&D sound like the way to go : )

Micron cans for the Sprint. Expensive, but lovely sound.

If my opinion is worth much, I would love to take the 3-in-1 off my 04 Sprint and put them on my 900 Exec. I like the peace and quiet. The 04 set of pipes has a very nice mild rumble to it.

For fun, I did slip on my 1968 Triumph Toga mufflers. They make a Bonneville sound great, but made a horrible sound on the Sprint. They did look cool......

You can put almost any exhaust on your moto, just find the right I.D. of your midpipes, find what else matches up,,,and there you go
