i need a new air filter but dont want to drop 60$ or (35 pounds) on a k&n filer. anyone know where i can buy a oem or nos stock air filter??? it almost seems like i have to buy a new air box just to get the filter that comes with it.

You have to buy a new airbox to get the filter. The maintenance spec calls for replacing the whole assembly every 24k miles.

That being said, it is possible to pull the airbox apart to clean & oil the filter.
