At 95,000 miles my clutch master is starting to weap ever so slightly. Great Bay and my local dealer don't (won't) sell just the piston seal, which is all it needs.

They want $50!! for the "Piston set" which is all the inner parts (circlip, washer, piston, seal, spring, dust cover, kitchen sink,....).

Anybody know where I can a simple piston seal?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by piston seal, at least not in relation to what I see in the fiche, & I'm not entirely sure the pistons are the same, but it might be worth checking out the fiche for a Kawi ZX-11...

Ron Ayers online fiche

I know for sure that the brakelight switch from that fiche fits our bikes...

Umm. You said clutch, didn't you? Try this diagram instead.

There is a seal there for under $4, so hopefully that's what you need.

Once again we need the Jap bike equivalent. Once that is determined, there might be something here:

Sudco Brake Products

Sailfish: Did you mean Sudco MC Rebuild Kits? If so, they don't list rebuild kits for any of the Kawis that are likely to be interchangeable. Wonder if K&L has anything...

Cheers,
-Kit

Okay, so there are many Kawasaki bikes that use Nissin master cylinders that are very similar to ours. It looks like those bikes use Kawasaki piston assemblies 43020-1054 for the brake & 43020-1055 for the clutch. K&L does rebuild kits for them. The clutch MC rebuild kit is K&L part #32-1095 & the brake MC kit is 32-1096. They're around $25-30.

I haven't the slightest idea whether these will work with our bikes. It seems likely, but there might be some difference of which I am not aware.

HTH,
-Kit

Do you have a link for K&L?

Alas, I have no link. If you google "k&l rebuild kit", you'll find a billion places that sell them (including Sudco) but I couldn't find anything that looked like an official K&L web site. Here's a link to one of the places that stocks the K&L stuff, if that helps.

Cheers,
-Kit

I think 98sprint means the dust boot. My dust boot is in bad condition. I think that it is allowing moisture into the hydraulic clutch system. Oh, well, just one more thing to do when I get to it.
