Has anyone ever tried to install Kawasaki part number 161261247 on the T300 Mikunis? This is the slide guide plastic insert into the 36mm Mikunis.

This part can be had (unlike the Triumph which can't be bought) for about $110. It fits the 1996 Kaw. Zephyr carbs which I think are the same as the T300.

Those with experience along these lines, what do you think?

No experience, I don't see any '96 Zephyrs at all on Kawasaki's site, & the only reference I can find for it is from the '97 ZX9R/Ninja 900 fiche, but there is one thing I can tell you:

Ron Ayers has Kawi P/N 16126-1247 for $92.32.

I also wonder if you wouldn't be better off economically grabbing a whole rack of Ninja carbs off eBay. Might have to wait a bit for a low-mile set to show up, but $300 seems pretty pricey to me.
