I let the Exec sit for a week without starting or driving it, and now it won't keep running and fuel pours out of the petcock. Wazzup with that!?!?

Perhaps the petCock has failed, or a hose attached to it! - With the tank off, fashion from a plastic milk jug, some JB weld and some tubing a fuel tank/supply - you will have to block the vacuum tube that attaches to the old petcock with something temporary, a pencil or the such like - and see if she'll run. If she does replace the petcock - Pingle does one but you will gain a hole in your body work and will have to make that vacuum hose shorter and block it up more permanently but the problem will go away for good!

Welcome to the "Mikuni's revenge" club. My petcock went south as well. I bought a new one from the factory and it has been fine since. I understand there is a rebuild kit available. My replacement cost $90 I think.

Thanks for the input, guys. I found the problem. The vacuum hose from #3 carb to the petcock had a tear in it right where it bends 90 degrees to the petcock nipple. I cut the bad part off, slipped it back on, and we're back in business!
