Igniters

Hi all, still trying to trace down running problems, even after carb refub. You wouldn't want to know what the last owner had been up to!! But suffice to say I have found numerous problems so far - nearly all have been found thanks to this wonderful website - cheers.

Anyway my 95 speed triple has an igniter with a T509 sticker on it? So this left me thinking has it been changed in the past, and if so is it right to replace later igniters into the older bikes? Are they interchangeabe?

Any insight would be appreciated.

The '95 S3 is a T-300 model and a T-509 is an early fuel injected 885; two completely different animals. So I couldn't guess why the igniter on a T-300 would have a T-509 sticker on it.

I would guess that an igniter from an early Daytona or an early Sprint, both T-300s, as well as an igniter from a 900 Trophy would work.
