I'm stil lgetting used to the Sprint I just bought.
It's a 97, new to me.
I ride "old" bikes. My other one as of now is a 1980 Suzuki GS1000S, the Wes Cooley model.
Simple suspension settings on it.
This Sprint has adjustable everything.
I don't want to screw it up. A little trial and error is one thing, but to make it dangerous or unstable is another.

I'm on the larger side, over 6ft and around 250lbs.
I've been riding over 30 years, so I can tell what works and what doesn't.
Any suggestions for settings? I'm looking for abase line to start with.
I ride hard, and do ride 2 up.

Thanks

Nobody is going to be able to give you a "Set this at such and such, and the other at such and such" answer. Every person, every bike, and every set of conditions is different.

If somebody does give you a "set it like this" answer about suspension, run screaming for the hills. They don't know what they are talking about.

The following topic is a great place to start.

Hi Keith,

I guess you have a Sprint Sport? Most Sprints, including mine, do not have adjustable suspension and so it is difficult to advise.

I have 2 thoughts which may help?
1. Have you checked your Owners Handbook? I would imagine this would contain the base settings?
2. The Sprint Sport is effectively the last T300 Speed Triple fitted with Sprint bodywork, produced alongside the then new T595 Speed Triple. You may be able to gain better base settings from the T300 Daytona & Speed Triple owners, as their motorcycles have the same suspension as the Sprint Sport.

Hope this helps.
Geoff

ps. Just looked in my manuals, and the Owners Handbook (& the older ['96] Triumph Service Manual) has the recommended settings (and original Factory setting). Send me a PM if you don't have either of these manuals with the bike, and I'll copy something down. Geoff

pps. Found this link: Cooley Suzuki. Looks an interesting bike. How's the chassis?

Thanks !!

crashmasterd, great link!
I actually saved it as a word doc to read later.

I just don't want to screw up the settings so bad the bike is dangerous. I know that's pretty radical, but the previous owner was "average" in size, I'm more XXL size.

Geoff, decent link to a Cooley model.
This isn't a Suzuki site, but I've owned this one 17+ years.
I have $$$$ in the suspension. As to the frame, for street riding, it's a rock. Just the stock gusseting.
Once I get a few more posts, I can pm or post a picture
of 26 year old technology that still works
