Well it seems as my rear brake light switch hates me, it only works when it wants to. Not sure if i need a new peice or if it can be adjusted. Seems like it is pressure activated and no adjustment can be made , any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, when they go, the only route is replacement. There are two set-ups, though.

One has the switch and the banjo bolt all one and the same. You have to undo the whole thing, withdraw it from the banjo on the end of your brake line, while fluid runs out of the banjo and all over your fingers while you're picking up the new one and trying to get through the new washers that you had to buy, and through the hole in the banjo.

The other set-up has a special banjo bolt that is tapped to recieve a switch that has pipe-threads and just threads into it like a normal automotive brake-light switch. Once you have this in place, you can pick up a switch at NAPA or Pep-Boys that will fit it.

The good news is that if your bike came with the first type, like mine did, all you need to do is order the parts for the second type and put them on. :hammer:

I only see wire going to the brake light from the switch nothing coming in to the switch . I was thinking about trying a switch simalar to the kill switch to the kick stand and mount it on the rear brake pedal. Think something like this will work?

Bluff, if you don't like the original switch Pendraig offers the best alternative. Not sure why you'd want to go to the effort to install an inferior mechanical switch. I don't even have a rear brake switch on my Norton (I took it off, it was junk) and installed the hydraulic version on the front master cylinder.

Is you system free of air? It might be a good time to do that service and change all of your hydraulic fluids if it's been awhile.
