Any suggestions for the best tuning mods for my '94 Speed Triple to give it a bit more get up and go? :???:

Buy the rare Big Bore Kit from meanchuck!

But something a little more in your price range.... K&N with a jet kit (Stage 1, 2, or 3 even) and a free-flowing 3-into-1 exhaust.

I'm suprised you're looking for more up and go! The T300 S3 could use a weight reduction- maybe try racing it without you on it? Keep me posted on what you do

It is currently fitted with fairly unrestrictive pipe (make unknown) and has just been re-jetted and set up on a rolling road with a figure of 94 BHP at the rear wheel. I have taken it along to a few 1/4 mile sprints with a best time of 11.69 seconds @115mph. Currently running 17/45 sprockets which means hitting the rev limiter in 4th just after crossing the line.

As far as the weight reduction is concerned maybe I should take up jogging or just cut down on the pies.........

Hi,

The Air Filter and Exhausts are the obvious first steps.

One direction after that is high lift cams and high compression pistons (as fitted in the T300 Daytona Super 3), but don't overlook the brakes and suspension. You can get these parts from your Triumph dealer, or mail order from Jack Lilley. I understand this upgrade can be done without taking the engine out? The Super 3 is quoted at about 115ps, against 98ps with the Speed Triple.

Another direction is to take a look at the Wilcox site: Wilcox Engines

Good luck,
Geoff

39mm Keihin flatslides seem to really wake them up from what I an told. My bike has just shy of 110hp at the wheel and that's with SuperIII cams, alot of head work, a Staintune exhaust, and a rejet with a K&N

750 pistons.

As the bore is the same, only the stroke is different, between the 750 and 900 triples, the 750 pistons will fit with no problem. The 750 ran a higher compression ratio, the pistons are domed, so they will increase the compression ratio of the 900. Good for 10-12 bhp gain apparently.

This was a standard way of bending the rules in the Speed Triple Challenge race series.
